new mail not responding

When I click new email on a new installation it seemingly locks up for about 20 seconds and then the new mail windows comes up. version 7.1.33101.0 windows 7 pro 64

eM Client relies on .NET Framework so see if you have a recent version of that. I know with Windows 10 it works out of the box as the included version meets the minimum requirement. I can’t remember what is included with Windows 7. Also, if you have an alpha or beta version of Chrome installed on your commuter, maybe roll back to a released version and see if that makes any difference.

You can also disable conversations in Menu > View > Conversations and see if that increases performance any. When the database is stored on a slow RPM mechanical hard disk, this can help even though performance will not be anywhere near when using an SSD.
