New email problems

I can’t set up my Bell email account on eM Client but the exact same criteria is used on Thunderbird with no problems. It says it finds the server and that my password is incorrect. What gives??

I have the same problem.
Does eM Client have a support team, or is this user forum our only option?

That depends on what type of license you have.

If you have a Free License, you have access to this forum where help is offered by other users.

If you have a Pro License, you additionally have access to VIP Support and can open a support ticket directly with eM Client.

Maybe the password is incorrect? :wink:

Another reason the password may not be accepted is if you have the incorrect security policy in your settings. Go to Menu > Accounts and click on the IMAP tab for your account.

Check you have one of the following port/policy combinations:
Port 993 = Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy)
Port 143 = Use SSL/TLS if available

I can’t get that far since it won’t set up the account.

You can setup the account manually.

See the Help file for details.

You will need to get the IMAP and SMTP server names from your provider.

Automatic Setup is my only option.

Now we just need to get eM Client Inc. to update the Help File so that it does not give screenshots from version 7. :wink:

Al I get now is a 404. :frowning:
