Mail display not scrolling

Hi, I’m using eM Client for years with MacOS, now version 14.0. Since some months the window pane showing the mail content isn’t moving when scrolling with mouse or touchpad, just the scroll bar changes. I have to double click in the scrolled content, then the pane will refresh (but if then accidentially a link is hit, I have to close the browser and go back to the mail app - annoying! When holding the scroll bar button and releasing, display refreshes too. The problem is just with mail content - mail list, calendar etc. works well.

What version of eM Client are you running ?

Also have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling eM Client ?

Thanks for responding. I’m using version 9.2.2307 (c0b94dc). And I just deleted and reinstalled, with no change.

I just deleted and reinstalled, with no change.

Then could be you have a local database problem.

So if you have an IMAP, Exchange, Office 365 or iCloud (non POP account), I would then next “test with a new mail database” to see if it’s related to eM Client or something external in the OS.

So “close eM Client” , and then go to the following hidden database folder and rename it to eg: eM Client-Old. Then reopen eM Client and setup as new and see if the mail content scrolls.

(eM Client hidden database folder Mac)

“Users\yourusername\Library\Application Support\eM Client”

If a new mail database still has the same problem and uninstalling and reinstalling the mail client also made no difference, then must be something externally in the OS causing that.

Sorry, this doesn’t solve the problem.

The only effect I found is that all my mails archived in subfolders got lost - problably caused by deleting the app yesterday.

Ok so a new database also made no difference, then there must be something external in the Mac OS causing the mail scrolling issue. Sry I carn’t replicate that issue on my Mac.

The only effect I found is that all my mails archived in subfolders got lost - probably caused by deleting the app yesterday

Uninstalling eM Client on a Mac "doesn’t delete any mail from any folder. The only way that normally happens is if you deleted the original hidden database folder after uninstalling as well.

So as the new test database didn’t make any difference “if you still have the eM Client-Old hidden database folder” which I presume you do, then you close eM Client and then delete the new eM Client hidden database folder.

Then "rename the original eM Client-Old folder back to eM Client, and then reopen the program & all your emails will be as they were before.

Now if you no longer have the eM Client-Old original hidden database folder, then if you have been making regular eM Client backups either automatically via the settings or manually via the menu, then you can restore a recent backup via “Menu / File / Restore” and all your emails will also come back as they were.

The only thing then I can suggest to fix the mail scrolling issue “as a new database and uninstalling and reinstalling made no difference” is to eg: Try creating “a new Mac OS user admin profile” . As couid be something possibly loading in your current user profile causing it.

Alternatively if you have a current active paid Pro or Personal version, then you can also go to the VIP support page and login and lodge a support ticket for further investigation.

Okay, I restored the last backup and the archives are back.
We can stop searching for a solution for the scroll display bug. It’s enoying, but I can go on with it. Thanks.
