I had a bit of a disaster and lost thousands of email as I changed my email hosting and Outlook was set to sync the email account.
I have had emclient for a while but never used it.
I have added my email account (with my new email hosting) but I still have access to my cpanel server with a few years of emails.
If I switch my email records back to my cpanel account, and use my old credentials in emclient, can I grab all of the emails, sent etc and then switch back?
Is there any sync process I need to be aware of?
Thanks
I went ahead and switched the domain back to the old cpanel server, downloaded all of the emails, switched back and they were gone again.
How do I stop the emails syncing and removing all of the emails downloaded into emclient?
Any tips would be appreciated.
As a dirty solution, can I add the same email account again as it has separate email server details then have both in EMC? I just need the old emails to be searchable in EMC.
Hmm but when I disable my old email host hosting and it can’t login, what will happen in EMC?
Can I use my cpanel server POP details, download the messages permanently and store them in emclient or somehow impor them into the active account and delete the old cpanel email account?
The password prompt is getting annoying and i don’t know what else to do.
I have solved my problem but for anyone else with this issue the solution is simple when you find out how emclient works.
I had my new 3rd party hosted email account already saved and working.
I added my old email accout with the old details pointing from the old cpanel server added.
I simply use the File>IExport>email to eml file for both sent and inbox.
Then proceeded to Import into the main mailbox.
I was prety stressed about this all week but finally figured it out.
Outlook is gone for good now.
