Loss of Communications with Gmail Server

I have had several instances recently where emC will just quit communicating with the gmail server. Everything appears normal outwardly – the client continues to function and I can browse through messages, edit a new message, etc. But I can’t send a message and I do not receive new messages. Closing the client and attempting to restart it doesn’t work. The client won’t relaunch and when going to Task Manager, I can see that it is still running. Forcing it to close and then restarting works OK, after waiting for the endless database checks.

I am using 5.0.18025 with Windows Vista 64 bit, and gmail.

Is this a known problem? If so, when can a fix be expected?

Hello,

please try to updated to this version: http://www.emclient.com/dist/v5.0.183…

Thanks, Jan. Can you tell me what changes are in this build and what the nature of the problem is? It only happens occasionally, so it will be hard to determine if this build is fixing it.

John,

Tried that and it doesn’t work. I have messages sitting in the outbox and none showing as sent. My GMail inbox isn’t receiving anything either.

When I run diagnositics it says ok and an email shows up on the GMail website but nothing in EM Client.

Any ideas?

Eric

Hello,

this could be cause by many problems, hard to say if it is because eM Client or Gmail’s server or anything connection related.

I will ask for SMTP and IMAP (or POP3) and Network communication logs.
Go to Tools - Settings - Advanced and mark of SMTP and IMAP/POP3 under your account and Network communication logs under Global then restart client and follow steps or wait until this issue will come in a place, then click on “send and Receive”.
After this send me those logs to: [email protected]
together with this URL: https://discourse.emclient.com/emclient/to…
