Line spacing in body appears to be 1.5 and there appears to be no setting to change it.

When composing a new email or reply, there seems to be no control or setting to allow author to change the line spacing.

I prefer single spaced with blank line on CR/LF only. Am I missing a setting?

What version of eM Client do you use?

Found that SHift [Enter] produces single LF/CR pair. Still a bit of a pain.

Shift (enter) actually adds a line, and then both can be deleted with the delete key.

So, it is: Shift/Enter delete, delete.

How in the world did you figure it out?
