Problem is that the app has defaults for all new POP and IMAP accounts that should not be assumed. The result being that once an account is added, the account details (Port number and security settings) have to be changed which forces a full re-sync of all folders that takes absolutely ages. Why is a re-sync required just because a change has been made to standard ports? A re-sync that requires a connection to the mail server being maintained for an insane amount of time. I recommended this to a client and he is ranting at me now.
Hi Martin, not completely sure what you’re referring to, eM Client using the automatic setup will setup the account based on the autodiscover preferences on your mail server, e.g. should allow you to use the recommended server settings.
