I receive a few daily emails that have a very large list of items in it. EMClient chokes when I read those emails, to the point that my entire computer slows down and I need to slowly shut the software down, sometimes even restarting my computer to get control back.
What are the “items”, are they attachments to the email? Or are the “items” text in the body of the email such as someone has pasted in thousands of lines of text into the message?
If “items” are attachments to the message, I regularly receive emails with say 10-12 attachments and up to 30 MB total attachment file size. Your computer with 64 GB RAM and i9 has more capacity than my laptop which has 32 GB RAM, i7 at 1.9 GHz. The files I receive are PDFs, MS-Office files, and some datafiles. Reading the messages even with many large attachments doesn’t slow down my laptop. If I open an attachment, there is a slight delay as Windows opens the associated program to open the attachment. However, I don’t have messages with extremely large message bodies to tell you how that performs.
It happens on multiple computers. This specific one is an Alienware x17 R2 i9 2th Gen with 64GB of RAM
Ok so nothing wrong with your computer specs.
I have a much slower computer then that with a 50mbps connection and don’t experience that issue with V9 or V10 with Windows 11 and Mac Sequoia with eg: 4 very large IMAP accts.
Could be then due to whatever content is loading in your emails causing it to delay too long. Or could be an eg: external resident program running slowing the emails updating quick enough
So first if you have an eg: IMAP or Exchange type account, try going to “Menu / Accounts” and setting eM Client to download messages and attachments offline and see if it makes any difference as in the below V9 & V10 IMAP acct examples. It will use more local mail database space but might fix that issue.
Next if the below settings doesn’t make any difference to that issue, then if you have any eg: optionally installed firewall security programs or optionally installed antivirus programs or VPNs, “other than what comes default with your OS”, try completely disabling those to test incase of interference.
(eM Client V9 example) to download messages offline including attachments.
The emails don’t contain attachments. They contain a large body. For example, I have an email that is sent to me daily with thousands of domains listed. Another where I have systems logs delivered. The body of the emails are rather large, but it shouldn’t be freezing up my entire computer like this.
