Labels not folders in Gmail

eM Client v7.0.24859.1 - and yes, I know this is beta. Just reporting something for the developers to look into.

Right click any email and choose Move to folder. On both Gmail and GApp accounts a label is applied with whatever you select, but the current label is not removed, so in effect no move takes place. Example: you have a message in your inbox that you want to move to an Orders folder. You right click on the message, choose Move to Folder, and then select Orders. The label is applied to the message, but it does not appear in the Orders folder. It actually looks like nothing has happened, except if you go to the web client you can see that the Orders label has been added. The web client also does not show the message in the folder, only that the label has been applied.

Updating my own issue…

A workaround appears to be pretty simple - make the move as described, and then on the mail item, right click. Choose Categorize and remove the check in the Inbox label. The message disappears from the inbox but stays put in the folder where you “moved” it to.

Hello David,
there have been many changes made to the Gmail labels behaviour from the first version of the BETA and your use-case has been fixed in the update we hope to release soon.
Thank you for sharing your workaround solution though.
In the future when you encounter a problem with the BETA please follow the official instructions and send the report to [email protected] so that the info gets to our developers faster.

Regards,
Olivia
