Kerio (over Exchange WS) all-day events are wrong

Using eM Client 6.0.20154.0 and Kerio 8.2.4 (2550). eM Client uses now ExchangeWS (before it used CalDAV and CardDAV, and everything was fine!).

All the all-day events are shown wrongly in eM Client. They are shown spanning from 2am to the next day 2am. However they are OK in Kerio. I am located in mainland Europe, which at the moment is GMT+2 (that would account for the “2am” time).

If I modify the event in eM Client, then it is also saved incorrectly in Kerio (it puts the 2am-2am times). If I fix it in Kerio, it will still show wrongly in eM Client.

I’ve tried the “Repair” button for the account - no use.

The log of eM Client shows this when reading one of these events from Kerio:

This problem makes eM Client completely useless for me at the moment. Also, when configuring a new account together with Kerio, I no longer get the option to use CalDAV/CardDAV, which makes the problem even worse.

I hope you can pinpoint the problems with this information. It would really be great to have the calendar fixed soon.

Hi, can you please try updating your application to this version (http://www.emclient.com/dist/v6.0.20224/setup.msi) and once you do so, try right clicking your calendar folder and select Properties > Repair and click on the Repair button. Let me know if this solved the issue…

Thank you,
Paul.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for such a fast answer! Unfortunately, the new version makes no difference. I’ve verified that the eM Client version is 6.0.20224.0, and repairing the folder deletes all the events for a moment, and refreshes them from the server, but my events are still 2am to 2am.

The log from eM Client shows the same:

15:51:14.718|014| 2014-04-24T12:07:33Z

15:51:14.718|014| 2014-04-24T12:07:33Z
15:51:14.718|014| 2014-04-23T00:00:00Z
15:51:14.718|014| 2014-04-24T00:00:00Z
15:51:14.718|014| true

15:51:14.718|014| UTC

and the export from eM Client as iCalendar has also the same as before:

DTSTART:20140423T020000
DTEND:20140424T020000

LAST-MODIFIED:20140424T135226Z
DTSTAMP:20140424T120733Z
CREATED:20140424T120733Z

Some random thoughts… should there be any marker of “all-day event” in the iCalendar format? And why are DTSTART/DTEND not in UTC (missing the Z) whereas the other date fields are UTC?

Thank you very much for your help!

Fernando

Hi,
can you please go to Tools > Settings > Advanced and turn on Exchange Web Services logging for your account? Save the settings and try the folder repair again (so it’s visible in the logs).

If it doesn’t help as you said, go back to the Advanced settings window and click on Send logs, please send the logs to my email [email protected] and add a reference link to this forum topic please.

It would be also great if you could export one of the problematic events and attach it to that email as well.

Thank you,
Paul.

Hi Paul,

I just sent the files as requested. Hopefully the email won’t land in your spam folder.

Thank you very much indeed,

Fernando

Hi Fernando, thank you, we’ve received your logs and we’re examining them at the moment, I’ll let you know if there’s a solution for you available…

Thank you,
Paul.

Any update on this? Today I downloaded version 6.0.20617.0, did a repair of the calendar folders and the events are still wrong…

Hi Fernando, I’ve informed the developers, we’re are working on resolving the issue, it’s an issue with Kerio server, but there should be a workaround in future releases.

Thank you,
Paul.
