It's not just Google

It’s not just Google. I’ve tried multiple email providers, and I just get the “Can not connect”. I am able to access those same providers using any other email client.
This has nothing to do with DNS MX record propagation since the MX records existed for years and other email clients as well as web-based clients can access the email very quickly.
Need this fixed ASAP.

I’m sorry, I’ve tried my own domains, and your client will not add a new address. For example, I might have an address that is already being polled by POP3 and sending email just fine, maybe [email protected]. If I add a new one say [email protected] it will not work. During the set up the client will test the domain mail servers and they always reply, “cannot connect”. Which is odd because the other email is connecting to the same exact server.

This occurs on all of my copies of emclient but works on Thunderbird, Outlook and other web-based platforms. Only emclient will not recognize this account.

It even will not accept an account that I deleted then added. So, it worked, I deleted it, tried to add it back and I get the error.

What about manual setup. Same issue different words.

I do have a UTM and I’m blocking many known bad actors as well as IP’s that are known for doing bad things. Do you need me to unblock a certain IP for setup?

I do have a UTM.

Can you add your domain email addresses either automatically or manually outside of your UTM ?which I am guessing is the Virtual Box program.

Also are you running any optionally installed firewall / security programs or optionally installed antivirus programs or VPNs.? If you are try completely disabling those to test incase of interference.

A UTM broadly speaking is a Unified Threat Management device. I’m currently behind an Ubiquiti UDM Pro. Within its capabilities are a firewall and deep packet inspection. Since every email client that is available for windows that I’ve tested so far accepts the new email address setup, I’m guessing that when a person adds a new email address through emclient, that your program is offloading information to a particular IP address that my UTM deems unsafe.

In conjunction with the UTM all my DNS traffic is routed through NextNDS which also filters unwanted network traffic.
Since this connection is used by others as well as myself for work as well as personal use, I cannot simply “turn off” the device as it provides many other tasks to my site.
Can you send your source code to a valid security company?
Thank you.

As you can’t disable your UTM for work reasons, it sounds like you would need to then “configure that to allow eM Client to work”. However we can’t assist you with configuring that on this free community user forum. We can only advise to disable anything like that if you have issues.

So I would suggest to contact your UTM technical support and let them know your are using eM Client and they can then do their own tests with eM Client to see how to get it to work.

Apart from contacting your UTM technical support, if you still need further assistance and have “a current active eM Client Pro or Personal version” you can go to the following VIP support page and login at the top left and create a support ticket. An assigned engineer will then get back to you.

If you have run out of your support time, you can extend that for another year via the following page.

I’ve personally never seen anyone on this forum before with the UTM that you have. If there is others who are using that on this forum, they will no doubt respond and might be able to help you
