Issue with sending email in em client

Everytime I open up em client, a box pops up which says "em client can’t verify identy of “(my mailbox)”. It says the host name doesn’t match the name specified in the certificate.  I have double checked that all of my settings match exactly to my boss’s email since his is working fine. I usually just click on “connect,” and everything seems to work fine. I can receive emails no problem, but as soon as I send an email, it shows up in my “unread” folder in my smart folder, and I get an error that says “Connecting to (my email address) failed” “SMTP an attempt to connect to (my email address) failed. This could be caused by temporary server unavailability or incorrect settings. Do you want to check the settings?”  After clicking on “ignore all”, the message will usually send, but it takes about 5 minutes for it to send. Does anyone know what could be going on? This is really annoying. I have version 7.1.30794.0. Thanks.
