Hi,
there’s option in menu (Tools->Settings->Read: Replace text smiles with emoticons) which if enabled will display nice smiles at communication. Hope that is satisfactory.

thanks- i was looking for those little faces OK …what keys make those faces…I never got into short cuts- when i fist started learning computers-- everything was greek and that seems unnecessary considering …the sheer volumn of stuff to learn…

Hi,
if you want to find out text form of them just use some from the end of the toolstrip right above the text field for body of message (when composing new message) and then switch to plain-text format (menu Tools->Format->Plain Text). You will see the text equivalent of the smile at the body then.
