Is it possible to create clickable URLs in calendar event description?

I type URL in description of calendar events.

It would be very useful if I could just click the link and open web-page in the browser.

Is it possible to achieve this behaviour?

thanks,
Sergiy

Hello,

Unfortunately this is will not be implemented in close or even middle long time term.

regards
Jan

Yeah! you have implemented it! Thanks a lot!!

middle to long term was little shorter than it seemed 5 months ago. Anyway I hope it works like you want and need.

Jan

Hi Sergiy, Jan,

How could you use it? I got calendar event with URL inside but it shows as a regular text without link so I cannot click on link.

Thanks,
Peter

Hi Peter,
I tested this with both ‘www’ and with ‘https://www’ prefixes and the URLs are clickable.
Can you please describe in what format do you have problems with making the links clickable?

Best regards,
Olivia

Hi Olivia,

Thanks for your quick reply. I had a Skype meeting invitation with the following URL:
https://meet.lync.com/.
Behind “Join meeting” text.
If I use web based calendar I can see the link and I can click on that.
But if I use EM Client calendar I can only see the text without link so I cannot click on it.

Thanks and regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,
I tested it again with a different mail address and managed to replicate the issue. Thank you for letting us know.
I’ll forward this problem to our developers to make sure we fix this in future release or at least in version 7.

Best regards,
Olivia

Thank you very much!
Peter

when will the https://meet.lync.com/… hyperlink be available in the event description ? if it works with https://www i am sure making it work with https://meet is an easy fix. if it doesn’t work the whole software (which is awesome btw) can be rendered useles at my workplace

I guess you mean “http://” instead of “https://” in second occurence?

… or generally speaking, the URL detection rules should be reworked.
