iOS app not refreshing or syncing

For two days my emclient iOS app has stopped syncing with Gmail. I’ve tried reauthorizing google in the app and then offloading the app and reinstalling. Still get an un-ending refresh (line moving across the top of the inbox which I assume it is trying to sync). Never stops and never pulls in new emails.

Sending emails still works but the inbox never updates.

I have now taken the extreme step to delete the app and reinstall. Went through the setup via QR code from desktop. Now after more than 10 minutes not a single email is appearing in the inbox.

Depending on “the size of your online mailbox messages and folders”, it could take time till all the messages and folders appear from a brand new install setup. Press “Menu / Settings / Show Operations” to see where its up to in the synching process.

If still nothing syncing in show operations after along time and you are getting other internet apps working and browsing ok, then “open you Gmail account in Settings” and press on “IMAP” under Services and “check you have the correct Gmail settings” as per below example.

You can speed up synching Gmail messages by “Customizing Download Options” under Sync Options as in the screenshot example below with “Messages list only”, or “Messages without attachments”, or “Messages with attachments”.

You can also speed up synching mail by adjusting the “Message sync time period” at the bottom of Sync Options from “the last day anytime up to a year” if you don’t need all your messages synced.
