I’m having a problem with the latest version of eM Client (10.4.5674) on Windows 11 regarding meeting invitations I receive from MS Teams, Zoom, or Google Calendar.
Anyone else does, and might be able to point me to the right setting?
When I receive a meeting invitation from an external contact and accept or decline it, eM Client does not send the meeting response.
Only after I close eM Client and reopen it does the meeting response appear in the Outbox, but it still isn’t sent automatically. I have to open it and send it manually.
Expected behavior:
In eM Client, I click “Accept” (or “Decline” or “Maybe”) in the meeting invitation email or calendar entry
The meeting confirmation with my response is sent automatically
Current behavior:
In eM Client, I click “Accept” (or “Decline” or “Maybe”) in the meeting invitation email or calendar entry
I have to close eM Client
I have to reopen eM Client
I have to manually open the meeting confirmation in the Outbox and send it manually
Checks done:
“Send Messages” is set to “Immediately”.
There are no other pending outgoing items in the queue.
I am not having any issues with other emails or email replies being sent.
Logs show that SMTP sending generally works and there is no indication of whether the appointment response was sent successfully or failed.
No ports are blocked, none of my managed IMAP accounts is reporting issues.
The issue goes across the IMAP accounts I am managing with eM Client.
This really really takes my nerves and one or the other meeting failed because I missed following up with my reply.
I don’t really need all those AI toys as long as standard basic functions don’t work properly.
And, NO, I am not going to pay 9-10 bucks for “VIP support” to get a simple function running.
I’m sorry to hear you’re having those problems with the invitations and I can understand that would be frustrating. You’ve asked if others are experiencing this too so I’m really writing to give you the quick response to your question. It might not be what you hoped for (or, actually, might be!) but I am not experiencing those issues.
I’m using eM Client 10 (recently did the update to 10.4.5674.0) under macOS 26 and have typically seen that accepting or declining invitations has more or less been instant, seeing updates very quickly across other apps and calendars.
I am using an integrated (connected) ownCloud CalDAV calendar.
I have checked a few other things.
I found a setting in the account settings, “Always use client for scheduling”, and activated it. But unfortunately, no change in behavior.
I also activated the “Include when sending/receiving emails” setting for the CalDAV calendar account. But unfortunately, no change in behavior.
I cross-checked the setting of all email accounts managed by eM Client, but everything seems to be properly setup.
I deactivated all non-vital email accounts managed by eM Client, to reduce issue sources. But unfortunately, no change in behavior.
In addition, I found that the (manually) sent replies cannot be ‘digested’ by the sender’s calendar (= email arrives with the host, but this email does not change the confirmation status in host’s Google calendar).
Maybe my overall setup—with multiple email accounts from different providers plus remote CalDAV calendars—is a bit unusual and a real acid test for every workplace tool. But on the other hand, I think I am not trying to do anything particularly fancy.
Before investing more time, I would sincerely and highly appreciate any hint if I might have reached a factual eM Client limitation.
Best
Christian
P.S.: BTW, no, I am not going to switch to another remote calendar solution; it has been a conscious strategic decision to self-host my data.
If I deactivate ALL email accounts in eM Client except one, the reply is autosend!
Then I reactivated all other accounts one after the other until I found one who seems to cause the issue. And found it.
So, in case someone is having a smiliar issue and stumbling over this thread, this is what you might want to check (including having the setting activated I mentioned further above).
P.S.: Still having the issue that invite replies sent by eM Client are not properly ‘digested’ by the receiving Google calendar. But this is another topic, and I am not sure if this could simply be a limitation of the free Google account.
