Incorrect mail dates in data file

Due to very large mailbox (tens of GB) I started using data files (*.emdf) to offload server a bit.
During the process of moving email from online mailbox to local data file some emails “lost” their date. I have tens of emails that seems to be dated with the date I moved them rather their actual email date. Their date is still properly preserved in the headers.

Is there any way I can rebuild index of EMDF file to repair this?

Any “different methods” you can recommend? Rebuild/fix option (not sure what’s it’s called in English) isn’t available on data files as it is on IMAP folders.

What do you recommend?

Hey@musial

Have you tried using the Automatic Archive in eMCas an
alternative to ease the server losd?
It is here: Menu >settings >Mail >Automatic Archive

Also see here

I haven’t used that feature.
But data files, which I can mount and unmount anytime seem like a better solution for me.

I carn’t find anything about that changed to moved date when going to .emdf file on this free community forum. So suggest to contact offical support to see if they can help you with that.

So if you have a current active paid Pro, Personal or Business license, go to the VIP Support page and login and lodge a support ticket. If you have run out of your 12 months support you can get another year support extension via the following link VIP Support Extension | eM Client

Apart from contacting official support, i can only support it might be possibly due to an eg: older or outdated version of eM Client where there has been a lot of updates since V10 came out. So check that you have the latest V10 via the release history page.

If there is a later version and you do update eM Client, first “Unmount your .emdf files” and then make a manual backup of eM Client via “Menu / Backup”. You can see when thats completed in Show Operations via the dropdown on the right of Refresh.

Then close eM Client and update to the newer V10 and then “reopen and re-mount your .emdf files”. That might possibly fix that issue if you had an older version.

Yes i too also prefer using ..emdf files to store old email having used .pst files for years.
