Ian *dislikes* this.

I might have an idea, I think I have not asked about it before. If you open eM Client then in systray click on “speaker icon” and select “Volume mixer” do you see there eM Client?

Jan

No, it’s not shown, Jan.

In this case could you please contact me on email [email protected] with this topic url in subject?

Jan

Hi John,

I also do NOT have ‘eM Client’ shown in the ‘volume mixer’ dialog when clicking on the speaker icon, but I DO hear the sounds when I receive a new e-mail.

Should eM Client be shown in the ‘volume mixer’? If yes, why?

no it is okay, I was just curious if it has shown. That would be bad.

Problem solved
1st I went to General /notifications /at the top of the sound folder
I clicked on “default” it opened and showed my two email addresses
I clicked on one /then down to apply
went back and clicked on the other address /clicked apply
Am running the latest version if Win8.1 and your latest update.
I then went down to the system tray / clicked show icons /customise
scrolled down to your email icon and clicked
in the behaviours column I clicked "show icon and notifications.
IT NOW WORKS annnnd I am using my own sound wave file

Doesn’t work for me, I’m afraid. Still have icon notification, but no sound.

Sorry an omission here
(before you continue …click on the mail notification folder and where it opens… see what sound is attached to that …it’s easier to use a wave file and …choose a sound

in Program files in ‘windows explorer’
scroll down to eMail client
double click to open
scroll down to sounds and choose one of the existing sounds or
deposit your own sound there and click on it to see it works
my sounds are played back by win media player (is the default for me)
back in the notifications window incoming mail folder check to see if the chosen one is showing

I then went down to the system tray / clicked show icons /customise
scrolled down to eM client icon
and /clicked in the behaviours column/ clicked "show icon and notifications.
I FORGOT TO ADD THIS ACTION BELOW
I then (whilst in the same window …/went up to ACTION CENTER
/clicked on |show icon and notification) always remember to click ok
and review these 2 actions before you close
hope this works …not sure

Still no go, I’m afraid. Thanks anyway.

Doesn’t work for me whether I enable that or not - NO SOUND no matter what

In Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Notifications, make sure that the sound icon next to the item does not have a red x. Click the icon to toggle sound on or off.
You can also choose whether sound is played when the application is active. I think by default sound is muted when eM Client is in focus.
