Recently the way that EM client displayed my messages changed - not sure if there was an update? They are now shown in list form and I much preferred the previous way but I cannot find anywhere to change the view setting?
Does anyone have an ideas? I think the previous view was called single view?

If you are referring to the message list, when you increase the width of the list beyond 600 pixels by dragging the right border, this will switch to a single line view. This also happens when you turn the message panel off.
The options can be changed in Menu > Tools > Settings > Mail > Read. The compact layout is a 2 line view with sender, subject and date.
