importing a csv file of contacts - didn't work

When I imported my contacts in a csv file, it appeared to work. It took a moment and said it was completed. But the contacts don’t show up anywhere. I did it a second time with the same result.

Why isn’t it working? How can I fix it?

Oh gee. I finally found an answer to this. It said I had to Show Local Folders. That works. But now I have duplicates of the whole file. Any way to delete duplicates globally?
