The Contacts tab was there, it was at the bottom of the column.

Well I have managed to add two sub-folders under “Contacts”, but when I go to compose a message and click on ‘CC’, the only addresses that show are what were left over in the main folder, not the sun folders. There is no choice for the new subfolders.

I’m sorry I don’t have version 6 available and I’m not sure if Gary is still online, but what if you click on “All Contacts”?

Nothing.
I just tried to copy a contact from Contacts to a specific folder, but those folders don’t show anymore.
This is ridiculous. They need to take lessons from Opera M2.

Go to Tools > Settings > General > Show Local Folders. If Local Folders aren’t visible they will not show as an option in the drop-down.
