I have lost all the emails of the inbox.

Good morning, I have lost all the emails of the inbox. The day I lost all of them, when I received a new one, I could see it in the inbox and automatically it disappeared. The person in charge of the mail server (i use Imap) tells me that the problem is with the mail client. Do you know the way I could recover the mails? Thanks.

do you have any rules or archiving set up that could be moving your mails elsewhere? Are they in your trash folder or do you still see them in unread emails if you use smart folders?
What release of eM Client are you running (Help > About)?
The description of your problem is rather vague, so I will need more information if I am to pinpoint where the issue might lie.

I don’t have any rule or archiving set, they are not in trash folder and they don’t appear as unread because I can’t find them.
The release I am using is 6.0.23421.0.

I must say it’s rather confusing, because eM Client will not move or delete your emails without your permission or any rule or forwarding set up.
If this happens for all incoming emails, can you go to Tools > Settings > Advanced and turn on IMAP logging for the account that has the emails disappear?
Then please restart the app, and try sending a test email to yourself. If the issue happens again, go back to the advanced settings and click Send logs. Change the recipient of the message to me ([email protected]) and add lick to this forum topic in the body of the email.

I have received error messages (IMAP unable to upload message into Junk folder-server bug unknown internal error) and yesterday I had 5 new emails in the morning and when I went back to look at them later, they were gone. I do have the unread with the number 5 next to it, but when I click on it, it shows nothing there. How do I retrieve those lost emails? I have been getting that error message for about a week now, so I don’t know why it lost just the new emails from yesterday.

Re: Emails dissapears from your Inbox when you received email using an IMAP account.

If you cannot find them in any folder within EMClient, then first go online to your ISP Webmail and see if they are still showing in the inbox there. If they are then uninstall EMClient and reinstall and resetup your IMAP Account and they should all come back. I have done that a few times where i had email client problems.

However if the emails are not showing in the the ISP Webmail Inbox, then nothing you can normally do as the missing emails physically have been deleted or moved somewhere at the ISP Mailbox end. ISP’s sometimes can restore a mailbox from a backup.
