Looking up old mails, They are trippled:
The shown mails are in 3 different locations:
Lokale Ablage/Ablage/A_Infrastruktur
Newton Team/Ablage/A_Infrastruktur
Lokale Ordner/outlook mailbox.pst/Ablage/A_Infrastruktur
I can find the last one, but don’t know where these other mails are… I am afraid to deduplicate them, because this would most likely leave me with different results in these different locatione…
How would I resolve this?
Thanks
I am afraid to deduplicate them, because this would most likely leave me with different results in these different locations.
If your worried running the deduplicator, then suggest to do two things prior to running it.
First make a backup before you run the deduplicator via “Menu / Backup”. You can see when that’s complete in Show Operations via the dropdown on the right of Refresh.
Also suggest before you run the deduplicator, go to “Menu / File / Export” and chose Save to (.eml) and export your mail acct folder/s to a folder on your desktop or documents. So if anything goes wrong you can then easily restore messages later.

“I have duplicate emails, contacts, events or tasks - how do I get rid of them?”

HI Olivia.
Thanks for the hint. I’m not sure whether the deduplicator would even be able to do a good job. How does it decide which of the copies to delete and which to keep?
I fear that ist does this randomly and then I have spread all my folders and mails accross three locations.
I was about to move all three instances of …/Ablage/… into one location and then deduplicate them there… It would even help if eMC would propose ‘this mail exists in the destination folder… skip or overwrite? Ame choice for all?’. In that case the duplicates would vanish from the source.
There is no way to do this manually… this is an grown folder… it is my life!
Luckily, I have them in Outlook, so I would roll back to Outlook if required, but I really like eMC.
How can I go to these folders?
Lokale Ablage/Ablage/A_Infrastruktur
Newton Team/Ablage/A_Infrastruktur
Lokale Ordner/outlook mailbox.pst/Ablage/A_Infrastruktur
I can walk the last one, but can not find the ‘Lokale Ablage’ or the ‘Newton Team’
The ‘Newton Team’ was imported as an account. This wasn’t used for a long time and I had to remove the POP/SMTP stuff as it was constantly claiming wrong credentials… (although it was not checked to send/retrieve data ?!?)
But I can not find the folder it was refering to.
Is there a folder view over all accounts.
Thanks
Hi.
Any news?
I am in the test period and need support.
If eMC messes with my mails, I can not go on.
Thanks for your understanding.
It finds duplicates but “you then decide which ones you want to delete” and which to keep.
As per the support page extract on the last step
Quote:-
“you can choose the action to be performed with the duplicates - either delete them permanently or move them into a specific folder. If you want to sort our the data and double-check before you remove it, sorting them to a custom folder first might be a good idea”.
I am in the test period and need support
As you are in your initial 30day trial period then you can email [email protected] for initial assistance if you need more specific information on the deduplicator and link this thread.
This is one of the questions… it does not ask about Which of the three instances is deemed as duplicate, so, it will mess up more deeply.
Why can nobody tell me, where the mails are?
The shown mails are in 3 different locations:
Lokale Ablage/Ablage/A_Infrastruktur
Newton Team/Ablage/A_Infrastruktur
Lokale Ordner/outlook mailbox.pst/Ablage/A_Infrastruktur
I can find the last one (the 3rd one) as mails in a folder, but don’t know where these other mails are…
For the other two the ‘folder names’ are similar to accounts voch are ported from Outlook, but not used to email… So, I’d like to check them manually and possibly delete them… but I have no access to these ‘folders’ and the Accounts don’t show the tree of information to find them… in Outlook it was a clear thing: the account pouints to a storage location (pst, ost …)
So, I ‘just’ need to know where my mails are.
Thanks

So as I advised in my last post, as you are still in your initial 30day trial period, then you can email [email protected] for initial assistance if you need more specific information on the deduplicator and link this thread so support can see what your issue is.
