I am trying to read all of my messages. When I do that it puts them as read and then puts them back to unread. How do I fix that

that seems like a strange issue. What mail account does this happen with? Is it setup using IMAP/POP/Exchange protocol?
What version of eM Client are you running? Check for full version number in Help>About section.
