I activated 2 step verification and generated an app password. I can connect SMTP, but I receive an IMAP error "Your credentials rejected."

I have been using eM Client for many months and love it. I recently activated 2 step verification on my Google account and generated an application password. This enabled me to reconnect SMTP, but I now receive an IMAP error “Your credentials rejected.”

google’s 2 step verification is actually the reason for this, you will need to generate and use an App password for eM Client to work properly, you can find more information at google support here > https://support.google.com/accounts/a…
