would making myself a whitelist contact make em client pass emails thru where I cc or send an email to myself to follow up

The only reference to Whitelist in eMC is:
Menu ->Settings ->Mail ->Privacy ->Check item Block unsafe content…
Then SAFE received email addresses will be added to the Whitelist
