How to delete emails without auto advance?

I have the message preview pane turned off. When I open an email, the email shows up in a pop-up window. If I delete the email, the next email in the list shows up in the pop up window. I don’t want it to automatically advance - I want the popup to close and to be looking at my list of emails again.

I’ve looked for settings, but can’t seem to find anything applicable.

it is not possible at the moment but the next major update will definitely have an option for this behavior.
