I get to the first window on the New Account setup window (for an Exchange account), enter what it asks, and it gets stuck on “Obtaining server configuration records.” I have been waiting for 30 minutes, and seeing as it’s not giving me any feedback, I wondered if this is a bug or something I just have to wait out.
Hi Megan, what version of eM Client are you currently using on your computer, can you please check the exact version number in Help > About?
The initial Exchange setup may take a while, however mostly synchronizing subfolders with the server takes most of the time. What version of Exchange are you using on your server? Have you tried setting up the account using the automatic setup rather than the manual Exchange setup?

This is 6.0. I am not in front of the computer at the moment but I have just downloaded this yesterday so it should be the newest version but I will update my reply when I have access to it later.
I left it alone for almost an hour and it still did not connect. It doesn’t even get past Step 1 of the setup screen. I have Exchange 2010 on our server. The automatic setup did the same thing.
Hi again, please check the exact version number in Help > About as I suggested, and make sure you’re running the latest release (http://www.emclient.com/dist/v6.0.21899/setup.msi), if the issue persists, please try to disable any security elements that might be blocking the connection between your client and your mail server temporarily and try to re-setup the account, while security elements are disabled.
