Windows Live mail quit working so I thought I’d try emClient. There seems to be the same problem. Is there a certain way to set it up? I set it up using automatic, then deleted it and tried exchange. Under accounts the diagnostic tab is grayed out. Any tricks or should I just change emails?

do you know how your account is set up on the server? Hotmail can be usually set up as Airsync or IMAP.
I recommend trying the IMAP setting through New Account>Mail>Other option.
