How do you set newly received responses to earlier emails as not read. I lose incoming responses as they attach to the original and show as read.

When a new email arrives, it should display as not read, even if other messages in the string have been read.  If you are using conversations displaying in all content, there is an issue where a new message in a thread doses not display as unread if the conversation is highlighted when the new message arrives and you have the option enabled that marks a message read after displaying for xx seconds.

Go to menu/tools/settings/mail/read and uncheck "Mark messages read after displaying for XX seconds.  Also make sure that the option below it, “Mark messages read after opening in separate window” is checked.
