I’m running version 10.3.2619 and have found Settings / Mail / Compose / Email address suggestion / Show recipients but there seems no way to change a recipient’s “Name” on that list - even when I’ve received a reply from them and so now know what name belongs to the address. Am I looking in the wrong place? Many thanks, Bill
there seems no way to change a recipient’s “Name” on that list.
You change the recipient’s email address name in the “Contacts” section of eM Client “at the bottom left of the client” which will then reflect when you type in the To, Cc or Bcc line.

Just search for the email address or contact name in eM Client Contacts, and then “dblclick it to open it”, and then change the name and re-save it.
Thanks for the suggestion. At present I have no-one at all listed in Contacts, but it does look as if putting the important ones in there will be the only way to edit the “Recipients” list. I’ve initially written just to an email address, so that appears as a Recipient. Even if I manually change the Recipient part when I reply, eM Client changes it back to what it was the first time. Very frustrating!

If you don’t have a name of that email address, then you will need to create a Contact.
Type a few letters of the email address in the To,Cc or Bcc line and when it appears “right click” on the email address and click “Add Contact” . Then Type a name for that Contact.
Then once you have saved the new Contact, “delete the email address in the To,Cc or Bcc line” and then “type a couple of letters of their name” and it should then appear.
If you then want to edit / change the name, just right click on the name and click “Edit Contact”
If you no longer want a recipient email address “and they are not in your Contacts”, then you can go to “Menu / Settings (Preferances) / Mail / Compose” and click “Show Recipients” and you can click on the email address and delete it as per the example screenshot below.
Lastly if you previously typed an email address and it keeps appearing “even after deleting the recipient from the Show Recipients list” then remove / deselect the “Use all recipients from Send folders for suggestion” as in the example screenshot below and Save Settings.
That’s solved my problem. Many thanks!
There’ll be a blog post published about this topic (contacts suggestions) soon. It is a rather a complex topic.
Where can blog posts be found? I was expecting a “Blog” link in the header, but can’t see one.
It is not yet released, it should go out ai a few days.
Many thanks!
