how can I set default rules for search filter so I won’t have to alter the rule every time?

Not quite sure what you are asking. Maybe you want to regularly perform the same search?
If so you can create a Search Folder. Right click on Smart Folders.

Choose Display > Search Folders.Then right click on Search Folders > New Search Folder. Enter your search parameters.

In other words, is it possible to set default rules for Advanced Search instead of creating a Search Folder? For instance, I usually need to make the rules ‘From’ and ‘To’ before typing in a colleague’s email address. It would be handy to just have the same rules set in Advanced Search.
