how can i receive mail manually ONLY, not when eM Client is opened?

Is it possible to adjust a setting so that mail is received ONLY when i click the receive button, rather than when i simply open eM Client? I have been unable to find such an option.

go to Tools - Settings - General - General and in synchronization part uncheck both options.
