I just installed eM but it is NOT pulling in anything from the hotmail server, but telling me I have no email on my computer! Like Duh I was reading it on the hotmail mail server and I would still be if not for their putting into PreView which is as bad for email as Vista was for an OS. Some ways Preview and Vista act the same always have to say Yes I want to do, what I just said I wanted to do.

have you used the automatic setup for your hotmail account? Is it set up as AirSync or IMAP? (you can check this in Tools > Accounts).
Is there any error message pop up? Can you check the Tools > Operations window for Errors and copy the content of the Log tab here?
