hangs when I click on the X button

When I click on the close button (X) on the eM Client window it takes longer to quite, it almost feels as if it’s frozen for a moment.
Going the traditional route, Menu, File, Exit works as expected and eM Client closes right away.

I’m on Windows 10 Pro 1709

I always use the X to close the application, and there is a slight delay of a second or two between the application leaving the screen and the process closing. I think this has to do with ensuring that the application is completely closed, as in earlier versions where the delay was not there, the application sometimes did not close correctly. Why there is no delay in Menu > File > Exit is anybody’s guess. If you have a Pro License maybe you could open a support ticket and get an explanation.
