Google contacts - "Temporary problem. The user is over quota"

I am getting these errors. Any idea? I have 1770 contacts.

Hello, based on the error you’re seeing I’m guessing you may be uploading a contact whose size is over the quota set on Google Contacts, https://support.google.com/mail/answer/148779?hl=en .

Try to repair your calendar folder by right clicking the folder in the left pane and selecting Properties > Repair and click on the Repair button. Note this will essentially remove all your contacts and re-download the contacts available on the server, so before performing this action make sure your contacts are synchronised with the server and available when logging into Contacts online.

As you said, contacts that were not synced were lost - I had exported them before.
