gMail - synchronizing calendar list failed with an error: Daily Limit Exceeded

I began receiving the above error this afternoon. Looked on gMail calendar help site and could find no references to limits (except for SMS authentication).

I would hate to reduce the frequency of mail checks (there doesn’t seem to be a way to set different intervals for checking mail and synchronizing calendars or contacts, or for setting different intervals for various accounts).

Any ideas?
