Em Client has been working for 1 year. About a month ago I started getting sync errors. And as of 4 days ago it has stopped sending email. I am using gmail.
If I do diagnose the IMAP works but SMTP fails. If I do fix it eventually fixes it and a test message is received in my inbox, but I still cant send emails and if I do diagnose again it still shows a fail.
I have set gmail up in a Thunderbird client on the same machine and it can send emails, so it is not gmail and not my ISP.
The log shows-
3:32:26 PM (A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond 74.125.204.125:5223)
Hi Lloyd, what version of eM Client are you currently using on your computer, can you please check the exact release number in Help > About?
If an error occurs, can you please copy the whole content of the log in Operations once the error occurs? Are you using any security software on your computer, that may have disabled the application’s ability to connect to your mail server? If so, can you try to temporarily disable these security elements and check if the issue persists?
I disabled the antivirus to no avail. However it does still work under Thunderbird.

Hello again Lloyd, based on this log it seems the application tries to connect but the server is not responding on time, usually this kind of behavior is seen while the application is being affected by some security software installed on the computer, please make absolutely sure no security app is blocking the connection.
Try to update your eM Client to this release and if the issue persists, please go to Tools > Settings > Advanced and enable “IMAP” logging for the problematic account. Save the settings and replicate the issue, once the issue reoccurs please go back to the advanced settings window and submit the logs to us using the “Send logs” button.
