I have been trying to backup my gmail account that has several folders which some of them contain attachments, but for some reason only the inbox folder has downloaded the attachments. I would like to have a reliable backup of its contents before I delete everything. What am I missing? Also once I delete everything will my downloads on my computer do the same and if so how do I prevent that syncing…

in the first place enable the option “Download messages for offline use” and “Include attachments and images” in your account settings. Then move all the downloaded messages to Local folders or export them out of eM Client. It will prevent you from losing your data after you delete the messages on the server.
