Formatting an Email

Hello, I do web development and computer programming. Normally I can select several lines of text that I may want to indent and then press (the TAB key). When I do this with eM Client the text just disappears! I assume that my email defaults to HTML all of the time because I can paste in images etc. Any Ideas?

Yes most programming editors do allow you to select the text first and then press Tab to indent. However eM Client and no other mail clients ive tested seem to do that when i tried.

So probably need a Sleekplan suggestion for that as an option.

You could alternatively after selecting the text “insert a bullet” instead. (Ctrl-Shift-L) shortcut key or Cmd-Shift-L if you have a Mac and modified the keyboard to switch the Ctrl and Cmd keys.

Thanks for your reply! Makes sense! I guess I spend too much time in cPanel supporting my web sites the old school way! Hand coded: HTML, CSS, JAVA, PHP, MYSQL, Etc
I think folks that use development tools from their hosting platform are Wooses!

I’m using Mac EM Client Version 10.4.5326

I indent and outdent text by adding these options to the message compose bar (using customize toolbar)

This allows me to indent or outdent multiple lines of text at one time.
