Flag emails on server before downloading?

I travel frequently. Is there a way to “pre-flag” certain emails that I view on my YAHOO server, so that when I return from travel, I don’t have to try to remember which of the 1,000+ emails should be flagged?  In other words, they would be showing as flagged after downloading them to my POP3 emclient? Maybe using rules?

Hello Eric,

Unfortunately the POP3 protocol doesn’t transfer information about flags. Setting your account up as IMAP would enable you to flag your e-mails on the server and then access them from eM Client. For more information about the difference between POP3 and IMAP please view [http://www.emclient.com/faq-account-setup](http://www.emclient.com/faq-account-setup Just make “Link: http://www.emclient.com/faq-account-setup”)

The easiest way of moving from POP3 to IMAP is to

  1. set the same account as IMAP (which means the account is simultaneously set up as both POP3 and IMAP)
  2. move the e-mails from the POP3 account folders to the IMAP account folders
  3. wait until the e-mails finish transferring
  4. delete your POP3 account
