False Email Sync Error

I keep getting two errors each time I try to check email. My account is IMAP/SMTP and the errors I get are:

[SMTP] An attempt to connect to emailaccountname@providername.com failed. This could be caused by temporary server unavailability or incorrect settings. Do you want to check the settings?

and

[IMAP] An attempt to connect to emailaccountname@providername.com failed. This could be caused by temporary server unavailability or incorrect settings. Do you want to check the settings?

The thing is, this isn’t a real error because despite saying that, em Client successfully syncs my account. Thus I can receive and send email even though the program seems to think it isn’t working.

Anyone else have this problem? Anything I can do about it?

Ok, so now it’s not a false error as the outbound mail is no longer working. I’m still getting the SMTP error above though and outbound email will not go. The IMAP error has gone away and I can now receive inbound email.

Solved! I got this worked out by again adjusting port settings.
