Exchange not working with strato.de

Hello, I am trying to add my email account from Strato.de to eM client, but it won’t work with Exchange, only IMAP. Is this a known problem?

Is it a self hosted or paid hosting Strato.de server ?

If it’s self hosted and failing, “could be you might not have the auto discover setup correctly for Exchange” so then it only uses IMAP.

Have you tried manually adding your Exchange account via Add Account / Mail / Exchange ?

If you have “how far do you get to in the setup” ?, and “what error messages are you seeing” ?

Hello! Strato.de is a paid hosted server.
I am able to add the account manually via Add Account / Mail / Exchange
But then the problem starts. The account has a red triangle behind the name (in the email pane) and won’t sync. The log file says the following:

Any help would be much appreciated!

That usually means eg: “you are authenticated, but not authorised”.

So you may have restricted access / permission via an Exchange login, and I suspect you would need to contact your Server technical support. Might be a eg: server policy restriction.

Ok, I will contact Strato. Will post a follow up once I know more.
For now, thank you very much for your help!

Did you make any progress? I’ve encountered the exact same issue. Thanx

So far, no. But I haven’t been in contact with Strato to be fair.
