Exchange not marking as read on server.

In using eM CLient, I’ve just now noticed (not sure if it’s a new problem) that when an email is marked read in eM Client on my Exchange account it is not marked read on the server. I am using version 6.0.21040.0. I’ve seen one other post that had this same question, but no answer was included i the post. In order to get my Exchange server to work I had to use the mail account setup trick. 

Hi Kurt, unfortunately I’m not able to reproduce this issue using my current setup, please try to update your eM Client to this release and check if the issue persists, ?

If you’re using the Exchange protocol to synchronize your items between your client and the server, all information should be uploaded to the server, unless you’re using any security software on your computer that may disable this ability.
