Error message due to connecting

Dear,

I just install em client on my windows 8.1 but continuesly get error message :

xxxxx@gmail.com : connecting to xxxxx@gmail.com failed.
[IMAP] An attempt to connect to xxxxx@gmail.com failed…

What should i do?

how did you setup your account? Did you use the automatic setup?
Can you try deleting the account and try adding it again?

Yes…i use automatic setup n i have done several time but still receive error message.

can you check the IMAP settings of your account in Tools > Accounts > Your account > IMAP, and make a screenshot of the setting?

Also did you use IMAP on your previous mail client? IMAP settings should be automatically enabled on Gmail, but can you check the settings of your account online if it is really enabled in Settings?
