Does emClient require a password, or does my problem come from elsewhere?

em client suddenly asked for a startup password Nothing works. no way to receive new password link
Hello Thomas, startup password can be enabled in the application settings and is not setup by default so you’d have to enable the option in Tools > Settings > General > Password protection.
If you don’t know this password it is unfortunately not possible to access your data unless you setup a new database in your user/AppData/Roaming folder by removing or renaming the current eM Client folder.
Next application startup will then automatically setup a new database allowing you to setup your accounts from scratch.
