Synchronizing folder ‘[email protected]/name/’ failed with an error: String was not recognized as a valid DateTime is the error that I’m getting. I’m using the latest version , I believe, 5.0.18025.0 on a Windows 8 - 64 bit OS. Are there any suggestions on how to get this fixed?

Yes, solution to this is in our new patch, if you have not received it recently then you will receive it this week (we are pushing it to our suers gradually).
