My non-Microsoft apps were purged during a service call with Dell. I reinstalled eM Client. How do I display my emails?
After reinstalling eMC did you restore from an eMC backup?
No.
twentycharacters twentycharacters twentycharacters
Assuming you have a backup, now would be a good time to restore it using MENU > FILE > RESTORE
I am sure there is some meaning to this, but as you can guess it escapes me.
I was told “No.” did not meet the minimum of twenty characters for a post.
I wasn’t aware there was a backup feature, so there is no backup file. Thank you for responding, though. I appreciate your help.
Oh, forgot about that… I use dots, …, to fill out the 20 char minimum.
Without the backup you will have to do a new install and setup. Once that is complete, if you use IMAP, the emails should make their way into eMC.
Don’t forget to do daily automated backups of eMC. To set it up go to MENU > SETTINGS > BACKUP
If you don’t have an actual eM Client .zip backup or an IMAP, Exchange, Office 365 or iCloud account to come back automatically as in @sunriseal example / info above, you can still restore all your mail account in eM Client “if you have at least been backing up your computers user profile” regularly.
So if you have been backing up your user profile data, “enable hidden folders” in your file manager, and then “copy the complete contents” of the eM Client hidden folder “from your backup drive”.
See where they are normally located “at the end of this post” for Windows and Mac.
Then “install the same or later version of eM Client” and “skip the initial setup”, and then close eM Client once the program opens.
Next go to the newly installed eM Client hidden database folder on your Win C or Mac HD harddisk and “delete the contents completely”. Then paste the contents of your backed up eM Client hidden user profile database folder into the C or Mac HD new hidden eM Client database folder.
Lastly open eM Client and it will then be exactly the same as it was before.

“Hidden mail database folder Mac”
“Users\yourusername\Library\Application Support\eM Client”
