Emails In Sent Are Deleted

Started using EM Client when Postbox died. I notice that emails I delete also disappear from my GMail IMAP Sent folder as well. That’s odd, since if you ask everyone will say Sent is a “special” folder and it’s not possible to remove that Tag from an email. Apparently EM Client has figured out how to do it…

Anyway, I’d like it to not do that. Here’s an example:

  • I email myself a message, which shows up in my Inbox and in Sent
  • I delete the message from the Inbox; it disappears from Sent as well

What I want/expect is for it to have the Inbox tag removed, but to still be in the Sent folder. Is there a way to do that? This example actually applies to a bunch of situations where when I “delete” the last tag on an email or move it to another GMail account it disappears from Sent as well.

Sounds like you might have conversation view enabled.

Try “disabling conversation view” and see if that fixes it.

“Menu / Settings (Preferences) / Mail / Conversations”

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately I’m not using conversations, and have the “Disable conversations” already checked. So that’s probably not what’s happening. If you had any other suggestions, it would be much appreciated. I’m baffled, basically…
