Emails going into Unread

Nearly all my incoming emails have started going only into my Unread folder and not into my Inboxes. I believe this may be something to do with Categories. I have tried to disable Categories by unticking 'Show Categories’ in Settings/Mail/Categories/General.

I am aiming to get all my incoming emails for each of my two email accounts to go into a single Inbox for the respective account, with incoming emails for both accounts showing in All Inboxes. The Unread folder would then just show those Inbox emails that are unread.

I should be grateful for help in achieving this I will read through the responses but I am sending this in case a simple solution has been found.

The unread folder will still show all new incoming emails whether you have Category Inbox tabs enabled or not.

So as you have already disabled Categories in Settings and you are not seeing those emails in your account Inbox or All Inboxes and only in Unread, then sounds like those emails are being automatically moved to another account folder either by a rule setup locally in eM Client, or by a rule / filter setup on your mail server end.

So go to “Menu / Rules” and see if there is any rules setup in there other than the default Spam POP mail rule. You can dblclick the rules in there to view them.

If there is no Local rules setup in eM Client other than the default Spam POP rule, then go online to your webmail and see if you have any server rules setup to move emails to other account folders.

You can also sometimes see Server rules in eM Client “depending on your server type” via clicking the drop-down on the right of Local Rules.

Lastly if no rules are setup either in eM Client locally or online, then “right click in the body of one of those emails” and click “properties” at the bottom and see if it shows what mail folder it’s in.

Thank you. I have tried all these things but nothing gets me to where I want t be. As regards the last suggestion, clicking on properties, this tells me which folder the particular email is in, but what do I do then to get all my incoming emails into the Inbox? I think I may have to use another email client, at lease for the time being.

Just after sending the reply above, I found an email (in Unreads) from someone whose name began with Matthew offering further help. Unfortunately it disappeared before I could print it. If the email was from eMClient, could it be sent again, please/
